I'm back!

Well hello! It's been a while. I haven't posted since December 13th. Wowzer. Well, let's get back into it!

First some overall updates. I spent Christmas vacation in a town called Ålesund with my friend Tuva. And my mom arrived in Norway last Tuesday! She is here with me until Wednesday, and it has been so lovely to have her here. My posts from now on will probably be shorter than before as I was having trouble getting the umff to post so much so often.

Let's start with the Christmas vacation. I took the bus on December 18th to the airport in Kristiansand and flew to Ålesund that evening. Tuva picked me up from the airport and drove us to a nearby town where her house is. Her family is so kind and welcomed me like family. Over the next few days we explored Ålesund and the area around it, hiked, met up with Tuva's friends and family, and did lots of relaxing. Here are some pics.

View from the road outside Tuva's house.

Me, Tuva, and her friend Johanne.

Lots of mountains!

Another beautiful view.

We spent Christmas eve at Tuva's grandparent's house where I was gifted a homemade pair of wool socks and slippers. Knitted by her grandma! By the way, the word grandmother is bestemor in Norwegian. Literally translated to best mother hehe. I was absolutely spoiled with good food, gifts, and deserts. We left very full and tired. I missed my family a lot over the holidays, but Tuva's fam managed to make me feel like a part of the family. I am so grateful that I ended up in Ålesund for my first Norwegian Christmas.

Once I arrived back in Kristiansand on January 1st, I began a waiting game. My mom was to arrive on the 11th! The first week and a half at school went by in a blur as I ran towards the 11th! After a long bus ride to the airport, we were reunited! She has now been here for about 5 days, and man I missed her! It is so much fun to show her around school and introduce her to everyone I've met here! I might go more into detail in another post, but we did some hiking, a day trip to Kristiansand, a bonfire, and watched lots of the office together. Yay! Here are some pics!

Fancy dinner for my upcoming birthday!

A late-night trip to Kiwi.

My mom got to spend quite a bit of time with my wonderful friends.

Tuva's bonfire!

It's Monday. I'm sitting at my desk after cleaning. My room is super clean and I am just now realizing that I never told you all that my roommate Julie decide to quit school. She left a week before Christmas break. I was so so sad to see her go, and although it is lovely to have so much space, I miss having her here. I will upload some pictures of my room soon. It's very cozy!

Alright. Until next time!
