Thursday and Friday! And a little bit of Wednesday.

Hello!

It is now Saturday, but I'm gonna bring us right back to Wednesday evening.

I'm gonna set the scene. It is Wednesday evening. My 3 roommates and I are cleaning our dorms. There is much commotion and music pumping through the halls (Music + speaker courtesy of the Stumme family, miss you guys) This would usually happen every Monday and Friday, but we had a little trip on Friday, so the cleaning was moved to Wednesday. Here at Agder, cleaning is quite the ordeal. The whole hallway, ours is named Tudille, cleans together. Jobs like cleaning the hallway, steps, and kitchen and split up shared among us. Everything from the shower to the toilet to the windowsills is wiped down. After cleaning, I went on a brisk walk around the lake with a friend named Irmeli. She is a native Norwegian, but speaks amazing English and is super fun to talk to. I am really glad I get the chance to be here with her!

This is the view from the opposite side of the lake. Beautiful!

Later that evening after supper, The Stipps show Shrek in the theater. very entertaining. We also really cracked down on a puzzle, and I got the chance to talk to a lot of people I haven't met yet. As one of my favorite people, Mason Branstrator states, "Puzzles have no language barrier."

Moving on to Thursday. The morning assembly was done by Morten, a teacher at Agder. He sang and played 7 songs from The Rolling Stones as a tribute to their drummer Charlie Watts who passed away. We weren't sure what to expect, but holy crap he blew us away. He's got some major guitar and vocal skills. Thursday is the day where we generally don't have NLC class, but today we did. We discussed each of our intentions and were assigned a few questions surrounding the topic. After that, we gathered in our dorm hallway groups, once again mine is called Tudille (Pronounced Toodilla), and began to prepare for an event happening on Friday. There are 6 or 7 dormitory hallway groups in the school, and each one was tasked with presenting themselves as a whole at an assembly Friday night. We came up with a song, in Norwegian I might add. Not easy. I mumbled my way through most of it. After practicing our song, there was an activity happening down by the lake. Each hallway dormitory group had to make their way around the lake together, solving tasks along the way. Some tasks including smelling and guessing spices, listening to the first few seconds of a song and guessing the name, and matching flags from around the world with their country. Later that evening Helena (UK) and I had a bit of a dance party to Mamma Mia music, which sparked the idea of showing Mamma Mia on the TV in the NLC room. We ended up fitting about 25 people into the couch room.

On Thursday, we had breakfast, and then hopped into the Agder vans and drove over to a little seaside beach area. We pretty much did whatever we wanted. I did some hiking, volleyball, and searching for seashells. I've acuried quite the collection. Anyways, there is quite a lot of photos from Friday.

Clear little jellyfish, these ones don't sting, the orange ones do.

Me holding said jellyfish.

From left to right. August from north Norway, me hehe, Yewon from South Korea, and Yhan from Texas of course.

Kind of an amazing view of the sea.

We drove back to Agder for Dinner at 3pm or 15:00, and the gathered with our hallway groups again to put the final touches on our performances. I'm gonna leave the actual performance until the next post because I would like to take a nap. I'm exhausted 24/7, but it's worth it.

Ta-Ta for now!
