Annika's Year at Agder

It is Wednesday, January 26th, and the NLC class is frantically prepping for our Northern Trip. Although we have been packing and going over the schedule for weeks, there is still lots to do. Every Monday, each student lugs their big 75 L backpack to the NLC room to get it checked by Marianne. We have each curated a number of wool underlayers, thick wool sweaters, wool insoles for shoes, winter boots, parkas, mittens, hats, buffs, and so much more. I will try to attach the packing list somewhere (In Norwegian of course 😏) so you can get an idea of all that we are bringing. We leave next Monday after a busy weekend. Saturday is our school's Vinterball or prom. And my 19th birthday just happens to be the same day! Our first few days involve two overnight trains that get us up to Trondheim. I will try to keep posting over the 3-week trip, but it'll be a busy one so we will see.  In the last few days, I've taken a trip to Ikea took school pictures, worked a lot on the tickets

Whoa. Posting two days in a row? Insane, I know. But I just wanted to share a few pictures of my new and improved room! My roommate, Julie sadly left school a week before Christmas break. I miss her a ton and was so sad to see her to. But it has been fun to decorate my space! Here are some pics, I did not clean up before taking them so you can see what it actually looks like 😂. The TV is not mine! I wish it was, but my friend Tuva and I have been watching a new show so she brings her TV into my room. That’s it for today! Well hello! It's been a while. I haven't posted since December 13th. Wowzer. Well, let's get back into it!  First some overall updates. I spent Christmas vacation in a town called Ålesund with my friend Tuva. And my mom arrived in Norway last Tuesday! She is here with me until Wednesday, and it has been so lovely to have her here. My posts from now on will probably be shorter than before as I was having trouble getting the umff to post so much so often.  Let's start with the Christmas vacation. I took the bus on December 18th to the airport in Kristiansand and flew to Ålesund that evening. Tuva picked me up from the airport and drove us to a nearby town where her house is. Her family is so kind and welcomed me like family. Over the next few days we explored Ålesund and the area around it, hiked, met up with Tuva's friends and family, and did lots of relaxing.
